TOKENIZED STOCKS Are the Trade of the Moment. Robinhood Chain's DeFi Stack Is Betting Big
Coinbase's tokenized equity volumes just crossed $1 billion. Meanwhile, Robinhood Chain protocols are stacking hundreds of millions in locked capital to ride the same wave.
The tokenized stock thesis is no longer a fringe idea. A new analysis from Token Terminal highlights how real-world asset strategies are reshaping DeFi's value proposition, and the broader market is responding. Coinbase's tokenized equity offerings just crossed $1 billion in cumulative decentralized exchange trading volume, a milestone that underscores surging demand for on-chain exposure to traditional equities.
Robinhood Chain sits at the center of this shift. Its Stock Tokens, ERC-20 debt securities tracking US equities and ETFs, tradeable around the clock and settled in USDG, were purpose-built for exactly this moment. And the DeFi infrastructure being built around them is starting to reflect real conviction.
Morpho leads the charge with $456.5 million in total value locked, making it the dominant lending venue on the chain. Its USDG lending markets give capital a place to earn while remaining adjacent to the tokenized stock flow. Lighter follows at $101.3 million, carving out its own niche as a perpetuals venue drawing serious liquidity. Uniswap's Robinhood Chain deployment holds $69.0 million in TVL, serving as the primary swap layer for the ecosystem's growing token universe. Arcus, built by the dYdX team, has accumulated $24.2 million as it ramps up its order-book trading infrastructure.
That is roughly $651 million in locked capital across just four protocols, a meaningful footprint for a chain that launched with a very specific thesis: bring US equities on-chain and let DeFi compose around them. The TVL concentration in Morpho suggests users are parking stablecoins and waiting, either to lend against tokenized positions or to deploy into the next wave of on-chain equity products.
The bigger picture is unmistakable. Coinbase's $1 billion volume milestone and Token Terminal's RWA framing signal that the market is treating tokenized equities as a legitimate growth vertical, not a novelty. Robinhood Chain was early to this trade. Whether that head start converts into lasting dominance depends on how fast the ecosystem can deepen liquidity and expand beyond its early memecoin-fueled trading frenzies toward the institutional-grade infrastructure the stock token thesis demands.
